IMPROVING THE SAFETY OF SMALL FISHING VESSELS - DYNAMIC STABILITY

The main objective of this project is the dynamic stability of fishing vessels of 12m to 24m long through:

  • The development and implementation of embedded systems, to improve ship safety taking into account the constraints of minimum energy consumption and the behaviour of the crew, all the while remaining affordable for small vessels
  • The creation of new ship designs, fishing craft and interfaces between them, bearing in mind the same constraints as mentioned above
  • Training of crew using media and tools produced by the project: simulator, large scale physical platform and combined with awareness of potential changes in regulations and recommendations
