A Pôle Mer rooted in its territories
The Pôle Mer Méditerranée intends to capitalize on the economic an technological characteristics of each of its coastal territories.
Since its creation in 2005, the Pôle Mer Méditerranée has mainly developed its action in the coastal areas of the departments of the Alpes-Maritimes, Var and Bouches-du-Rhône.Today, the Pôle Mer is expanding its territorial coverage towards Languedoc-Roussillon. For each thematic area, these new territories add a complimentary dimension to that already integrated in the Pôle. In its opening strategy, the Pôle Mer invites the French overseas territories to find again in the mediterranean Region an exceptional experimentation field to handle their marine concerns. In the future, the Pôle Mer Méditerranée intends to complete its territorial rooting with the creation of several symbolic areas. The Sea Technopole, established on the territory of the Agglomeration Community of Toulon Provence Méditerranée, will be the first jewel of this ambitious programme.
