Seismic and gravitational movement in the Ligurian Sea

The principal aims of the project are:

  • Identify the geological parameters limiting the acoustic response in the event of gravitational instabilities
  • Monitor the evolution (geometric and acoustic) of an unstable zone over time
  • Deploy optical fibres for on-demand long distance data transfer or upon event detection (feasibility, consumption, life expectancy), connection of a seabed seismometer
  • Integrate seismic data collected on land and at sea (instrument responses, and on-site)
  • Suggest sites for the permanent environmental monitoring project in the Ligurian Sea
