Development of a sonar resolution system to study environmental risks: detection and monitoring of pollutants, coastal erosion, seismic risk.
The SOAC-CHIRP project focuses on the industrialization of high performance measurement equipment for control of environmental risks in shallow waters.
The SOAC-CHIRP product uses ultra-high resolution sensor to survey the sediments, at depths of 3 to 100 metres. The very wide frequency range and very low frequencies used (up to 400 Hz) make it a unique tool for the classification of sea beds. It is compact (about 80kg), and can easily be taken on board small motor boats.
It is the primary product from SOACSY the Project Promoter, and SOAC-CHIRP is designed for survey companies, for sea bed exploration and marine environment studies. It focuses on the study of environmental hazards in shallow waters (landslides, coastal erosion ...) but also on geotechnical hazards, mining (sand) or underwater archaeology.
Now completed, the developed technology is brought to market by SOACSY.
