Evaluation and evolution of the hazardous nature of land managed sediment.
The question of the dangers of "waste-sediment" is a key element which determines the different methods of land management, the impact on the possibilities of recycling and determines storage possibilities.
Managing non-submersible sediment on land necessitates a preliminary phase of defining the hazard levels of the waste.
This differentiation between «hazardous/non-hazardous» is the key to the recycling of non-submersible sediment.
It is also imperative to ensure that non-hazardous sediment is not likely to become hazardous as a result of the treatments that are applied (property H15).
The objective of this project is to determine the risk of the evolution from non-hazardous sediment to hazardous sediment as a result of the treatment process.
