Designing a hybrid diesel/solar powered shuttle ferry
The DEESSE project aims to develop innovative technology by associating diesel and electric at the same time in order to reduce operational costs and also to promote the development of eco-friendly urban water transport.
A hybrid boat which can balance performance and ecology is therefore a concept which is highly relevant and will offer an alternative and efficient naval technology, not only to local authorities but also to operators wishing to set up "green mobility" services while maintaining appropriate levels of performance. To do this, a CSP approach is implemented to identify the user configuration and design of the most successful shuttle in economic terms (TCO - total cost of ownership) and in environmental terms (overall impact on the environment across the entire life cycle).
