Investing in international competitiveness

The PACA Marine Cluster participated in the World Investment Conference in La Baule and met other European clusters committed to sustainable development.

The World Investment Conference, held in La Baule from 4 to 6 June 2008, focused on the topic of "Creative Energy, a Lever for the Attractiveness and Competitiveness of Europe".This conference, in close association with the Inter-ministerial Delegation for Land Planning and Regional Competitiveness (DIACT), which has provided a real platform for meetings and exchanges on European attractiveness, has attracted some 900 European and world-wide decision-makers.Initiated by France with the support of the European Commission, these meetings have become the forum for actors from European territories who are seeking to attract investments, talented individuals and innovative technologies.The inter-ministerial delegate, Pierre Dartout, the former Var Department prefect who supported the creation of the PACA Marine Cluster, invited Bernard Sans, President of the Cluster, to a working breakfast focusing on «International clusters committed to sustainable development».During this conference, the PACA and Brittany Marine Clusters have been recognized as key actors of innovation for sustainable development.
